Designation Ceremonies

Celebrating Excellence in Cybersecurity Education

The National Centers of Academic Excellence (NCAE) Designation Ceremonies recognize institutions that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to advancing cybersecurity education, research, and workforce development.

Each year, newly designated Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), Cyber Operations (CAE-CO), and Research (CAE-R) programs are formally acknowledged for meeting the rigorous academic and programmatic standards established by the National Security Agency (NSA) and its federal partners.

This recognition signifies that an institution has not only achieved national distinction but is also contributing to the shared mission of building a skilled, diverse, and resilient cybersecurity workforce.

2026 Designation Ceremonies

The 2026 Designation Ceremonies will take place during the CAE in Cybersecurity Community Symposium, held April 28–30, 2026 at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown.

During the ceremony, we will welcome newly designated CAE institutions from across the country into the NCAE Community. These designations represent years of dedication to academic excellence, faculty development, and student success in cybersecurity education.

Newly designated institutions to be announced soon!

What to Expect at the Ceremony

People seated in an audience, clapping.

The ceremony features breakfast and remarks from NSA and Department of Defense representatives, alongside leaders from the CAE in Cybersecurity Community, National Center.

Newly designated schools will be recognized on stage and presented with official NCAE designation certificates, followed by group photos and networking opportunities.

Attendees can look forward to an inspiring celebration highlighting collaboration, innovation, and the impact of the CAE Community’s collective work.

Get Involved!

We encourage all designation ceremony awardees to attend the full three-day event. A special “Get Involved” experience has been curated for new Points of Contact (POCs) to help you:

  • Network with fellow designees and experienced CAE leaders

  • Meet your Community of Practice (CoP) leads and government partners

  • Explore the initiatives, programs, and resources now available to your institution as part of the CAE Community

Event tickets are $200 and include access to all sessions, ceremonies, and networking events.

If you are only able to attend on your specific recognition day, $75 day passes will be available for you and your invited guests. Please contact the NCAE Program Management Office to confirm your recognition day and provide guest information in advance.

We look forward to celebrating your achievement and welcoming you into the CAE Community!
