In 2002, the National Science Foundation (NSF) co-sponsored a workshop and resulting report titled Protecting Information: The Role of Community Colleges in Cybersecurity Education. Nearly 20 years later, however, cybersecurity education has evolved dramatically – and along with it the cybersecurity threats and needs of the nation. The US is facing a growing critical shortage of qualified workers to fill cybersecurity positions across all industries and services. Community colleges have proven to play a vital role in reaching untapped, diverse, potential new student populations to fulfill these positions through innovative student outreach and highly relevant programming.

     The 2022 Summit will bring together leaders and stakeholders in cybersecurity education including community college faculty and administrators, corporate partners, and government representatives. Participants from across the nation will examine progress and impact made by community colleges to national and economic security and the workforce since the initial conference in 2002, and will contribute to recommendations for future strategies and initiatives.As an invited participant, your registration indicates your willingness and commitment to contribute your expertise and perspective throughout the two-day conference.
