Challenges in Managing Cybersecurity Threats: Multi-Perspective Case Studies

Dear Colleagues,

Professor Birol Yesilada and I, from Portland State University, are putting together a casebook addressing the strategic and policy aspects of the Cybersecurity challenge.

Globally, cyber-attacks have been surging at alarming rates, leading to serious financial and reputational damage and loss at the individual and organizational levels. Protecting critical infrastructure from cyberattacks is essential for the nation's security, economy, and well-being. Critical infrastructure encompasses the systems and assets that provide vital services for a country, such as energy, transportation, water, and communication networks. However, these systems are increasingly reliant on information and communication technologies (ICT), which makes them vulnerable to various cyber threats.

Professors Yesilada and Daim have been leading the Cybersecurity efforts for Portland State University and the state of Oregon. They have worked with many stakeholders including those from the private and public sectors. The book will include case studies from these interactions to serve as a guideline for professionals responsible for the cybersecurity of their organizations.
